For years KO-35 was a peaceful if strict colony of humans. But, am insidiousness was beginning to ovetake it's people. A growing movement against those minorities that possessed extra-sensory abilities had taken hold. It had only gotten worse as Kamden Varal appeared and became a loud voice for the anti-psy. He quickly gained attention and support for a political career. He became Deputy Prime Minister, but a year into her term, the more moderate Prime Minister became ill and died within a year. Varal succeeded her. He slowly began placing people in key positions who he could control by either sheer force of personality, bribery, or blackmail. His ultimate goal of total control of all KO-35 for all time. He secretly commissioned the creation of a new Astronema to bring the people's fear of telekentics to an even higher state. Using her appearance and seeming rampage on Earth, he gained more power and support. When his plot was about to revealed, KO-35 was attacked from what seemed like outside forces, and when the Astro Morphers were summoned, he intercepted them halfway and uses both the heroes and villains for his own agenda.

Not knowing what else he could do, Andros reached out Astronema, his sister's clone for help. She tracked down a powerful treasure that she hoped would help the cause. When Varal sends the corrupt Red Astro Ranger and the Shockers to arrest Karone, Zara, and even baby Zeke she has to enlist the help of the former Alpha and Beta Rangers in the area, as well as Galatian policeman to help protect the trio and find the treasure. When she finds the treasure, she finds that they're morph tech. She enlists the help of AJ Scott, Zara, Fox Oliver, and the Galatian Firhani Desari to become the Mega Rangers. Left with little choice, she herself becomes Pink Mega Ranger.

Though they didn't defeat Astro Red, they fled Earth and travelled to meet-up with Andros and join the resistance in a fight to reclaim KO-35 from it's evil oppressor.
