Chapter 02 : This is Angel Grove

The world had turned upside down for Topher Grant over the past few days. Just when he was settling into his new home and making new friends, he became a Power Ranger. Along with his new friend, Laiken Thorpe, they joined a trio of aliens to fight an insidious alien menace known only as the Syndicate.

"Actually, I'm human. Mostly," Mika Ro said. "Our ancestors are from Earth," she explained as she broke down her tent and began packing it into her seemingly bottomless backpack.

Topher nodded slightly. "But Neri and Ravi aren't?" he asked.

"Correct," she nodded toward where Ravi said cross-legged on the ground facing the sunrise. "Ravi is Tauron. His people have developed a peaceful, almost pacifistic culture because of their past tendencies to lose control of their emotions."

"So, we wouldn't like him when he's angry?" Laiken asked.

Mika shook her head. "Indeed, you would not. His world all but finished by the time we arrived, and he was in a rage like I'd ever seen before. We had to knock him out to calm him down and save his life," she explained. "It was not a pretty scene," she answered.

Laiken and Topher nodded slightly.

"Neri is Marzen," she looked out over the ridge toward the ocean where Neri had disappeared under the waves in search of a fresh breakfast. "Her planet has only a few landmasses and none of them bigger than an island, so her society is mostly underwater. So, I guess you can say she's amphibious. She can't really breath underwater, but she can stay underwater for a long time. Most of their cities are located under the ocean. Even so, her planet became victim to the Syndicate as well, and she joined us to fight for its freedom," she explained.

"What about you?" Laiken asked. "How did you get involved? Was your world invaded?"

Mika shook her head. "We were warned ahead of time, so my dad made us disappear. But I decided to help. I became the first Ranger," she said.

"And your parents were cool with that?" Topher asked.

Mika grinned slightly. "My parents are Power Rangers. So was I a couple years ago. Besides, I have my reasons for wanting to help. They understood. I didn't really expect my journey to bring me back to Earth," she said and blew out a breath.

Before either boy could probe further, Ravi finished his morning meditation and Neri re-emerged from the water. "This is Angel Grove, right?" she asked. Topher and Laiken nodded.

"Good. We need a base before I go into more details. And know just the place to start. We need to go to the Youth Center," she announced.

The Angel Grove Youth Center had a long rich history, although it had closed down for a time, but for nearly a decade and a half, it'd been under the management of the Bakers. Winter Baker was currently the owner and operator. In the early days, he and sisters and their younger cousin had worked and run it.

Now, however, everyone had moved beyond except him. His role was largely management, but he still enjoyed getting in the kitchen or manning the counter. Most of his staff these days were teenagers and college students looking for jobs, so turnover was high, but he was always proud to provide them the opportunity.

His wife came and went as well. She never really worked there, but she could be frequently found there when she wasn't at her Library or the Angel Grove Municipal Library or working on her latest project.

She just happened to be on a break and sat at the counter sipping on a tall coffee cup full of espresso. Lammy was a tall, golden skinned woman with blue eyes and golden curls pulled into a twist behind her head. She even donned a pair of thin golden glasses for reason except to look the part of a mousey librarian. But there was nothing mousey about the statuesque woman. Winter let her have her way, though.

It was still rather early and summer break, so neither of them expected to see a group of teenagers came in. Winter and Lammy were familiar with their regulars. They recognized Laiken and his new friend, but the other three were totally unfamiliar to them. They had camping equipment with them.

"Good morning," Winter greeted. "Get you guys something for breakfast?" he asked.

"We're not here for breakfast. Thank you," Mika answered.

"Why exactly are we here?" Topher asked in a low voice.

Mika looked around to make sure none of the staff were about. "Because we're Power Rangers, and we need a base," she said. "We can't keep camping out," she answered.

Winter blinked and Lammy grinned. "You came to the right place," she said. "I'll handle this, sweetie," she said to her husband. "Follow me," she told them.

Laiken and Topher shared confused looks as both adults took this in stride. Lammy lead them to the back of the Youth Center. She stopped beside a door. She tapped a smartwatch she wore. "Six to teleport, Beez," she said.

Teleportation was probably one of the weirdest things that'd ever happened to Topher, and for the way things had been going lately, that was saying something. The little band appeared in a high-tech facility covered in computer screens and circular bank of terminals in the middle of it. Several doors led to parts unknown. There were also displays of Ranger suits from days past.

One large screen lit up with the face of a young woman with lavender eyes and dark hair. "Welcome, Rangers. I am Beta Z. You may make use of the Command Center while you need it," she said.

"Is it okay if Omni interfaces with you?" Mika asked. She pulled Omni's interface from her backpack. She unplugged him.

Monitor Beez nodded. A port opened up on one of the terminals. Mika plugged Omni into it. "Interfacing," she and Omni said as one.

After Lammy left with the new Rangers, a visitor came down from the living area above the center. A youth with the look of an east Asian boy around sixteen came downstairs. His hair and eyes were dark, but he resembled his father. tallish- dressed in faded gray jeans and jacket. He was an honorary nephew. Not technically related to them, but two of Lammy's brothers were his uncles, so they may as well have been. He's come for the last few weeks of summer, doing magical research in the Library for his mom.

Akira O'Keefe went by Zero. He wasn't sure why, but he'd gone by it so long, it hardly mattered anymore. He was finally done with his magic assignment and he'd just got a great message. "Uncle Win," he greeted. "Van's coming to Angel Grove," he said.

"I thought Van was avoiding Angel Grove like the plague," Win said dryly. He remembered the Rangers that'd just tromped through. He grinned. "I'll let Lammy know," he said enigmatically.

Zero wasn't sure how to take his uncle's suddenly odd answer. "I'm going to meet him," he said.

"No breakfast?"

"I'll grab something when I meet Van!" Zero said as he ran out the doors of the Youth Center. Winter sighed. Things were getting lively in Angel Grove again.

Somewhere in Space

Aboard his Command Harvester a figure stood in his control room. suave and swarthy, he wore a green coat and baggy pants. His dark hair was long and clubbed back. A high-ranking member of the Syndicate, a prominent Director called Eriodore. He'd been sent in the vanguard attack of Earth. He hadn't expected the kind of resistance they'd gotten. He'd had to draw back a safe distance.

But this backwater blue planet was very rich in Qiyu, a form of life energy planets possessed by planets with a teeming biosphere. Qiyu was the very life an inhabited planet and the Syndicate thrived on it. He would not give it up. He'd send an administrator to launch an attack with a harvester and take care of this pest problem once and for all.

"So, this...Qiyu is the main reason this Syndicate is here?" Topher asked.

After interfacing with the Command Center Omni explained what they knew about the Syndicate so far. It's hierarchy, the Scourge at the bottom, the Scourge weeds above them. Administrators in Harvesters usually took over and maintained a planet while draining its Qiyu. Above them were directors. Above that was believed to be an even more mysterious and elite group but information was scarce, and the one at the top of it all was a mystery.

"Correct. The Syndicate encroached from a galaxy far, far away. It's believed they've stripped their own galaxy and must find new sources of Qiyu. Using a forbidden technology to bleed through space and time, they've discovered our galaxy to be rich source of Qiyu." Omni answered.

The graphic he was displaying changed to topographical map. "Two more Quasi-Stellar Orbs have been located in our vicinity," he announced. Bright spots lit that were steadily moving around in Angel Grove.

"Beez," Lammy said. Another monitor flickered on of a young man on the street. Dressed like any other teenager in jeans, sneakers and a tee shirt, he walked along with a backpack slung over his shoulder. Asian featured with dark eyes and hair, at least two people in the Command Center recognized him.

"It's fine for now," Mika said, surprising her teammates.

"Shouldn't we retrieve them?" Neri asked.

"We have bigger worries. Such as these," she said and held up her arm half of which was covered in her Constellizer, "are very conspicuous. There's also the fact that we need somewhere to live," she explained.

Ravi tilted his head slightly but didn't argue with her. He hadn't known her very long, but he'd learned to follow her lead on things.

"The second thing I can handle, but we need reinforcements for the first," Lammy said.

"Reinforcements?" Laiken asked. This was all so fascinating. He'd been hearing about Power rangers since moving to Angel Grove, now here he was. A Power Ranger. And Ms. Lammy from the Youth Center was in the in it up to her eyeballs without nary a blink. He knew there was so much to know.

A grumpy looking disheveled blonde woman appeared in the Command Center. She blinked her blue eyes owlishly behind her glasses as she peered at them. She took a swig of coffee from a tall cup and went wordlessly to a console. She pulled up a private monitor and began typing.

"Don't mind Billie. She's not a morning person," Lammy said.

Laiken cocked his head. He recognized her. She was the mom of one the other kids in his little brother's gifted programs. "This will take a while," Dr. Billie Davis-Doyle said.

Topher removed the Constellizer and checked his watch. "Oh, I have to get home," he said and froze. "How exactly do I do that?" he asked. He was unwillingly teleported to a quiet spot near his house. "Not sure I'm going to get used to that," he said and hauled his gear toward his house.

Van Goldsmith wasn't a native of Angel Grove, but he knew enough about the place to know to avoid it. Not that had worked out too well for him. In the middle of a city called Farrant Heights, he'd still had to suit up and become a Power Ranger. A few nights ago, he was camping out when he saw lights in the sky. His vision was superior than a human's and he could make out the space battle. Then two little round things fell out of the sky and set his tent on fire from their heat.

It hadn't taken much digging to learn about the fight that took place in Angel Grove the next day. So, he'd began making his way. He also traveled much faster and further than a human, so he'd chosen not to use magic, what little of it he could do, to get there. So, within a few days, he was in Angel Grove.

He was making his way to the Youth Center when suddenly his extrasensory perception, or what was often referred to ask spidey-senses, warned him of an attack, he dodged to the side just as someone attempted to jump on his back. He whipped around but his attacker had disappeared. A movement caught his periphery vision and he whirled, but no one was there. Too late, it was a distraction and he was glomped. "Ah! Geeze you're heavy!" he grunted as his attacker wrapped his arms and legs around him and slumped downward. He disappeared in a puff of smoke.

Suddenly clutching nothing but smoke, Zero fell inelegantly on the ground. "Ugh. Magic teleports are cheating," he complained.

Van reappeared. "So is astral projecting," he complained and held a hand down to his younger cousin, who'd grown quite a bit in the two years since he'd last seen him. They'd lived in Briarwood with their parents. Their mothers were sisters. Their grandmother was the esteemed and feared Rita Repulsa, the Mystic Mother of the Mystic Realm.

Van had decided to leave to find his own path in life. Zero was a couple years younger than him and was perfectly content to stay in Briarwood. He'd never quite understood Van's need to wander, but he'd supported his cousin unconditionally. So, he was psyched to see him again. "I have to do something to counteract the spidey-senses," he said nonchalantly.

Neither of them were human. Well, Zero's paternal grandmother was, but his dad's dad was Triforian. His mom was Vilite. Van was part Vilite, part Wolzyd, and part Rachnaemance. His other grandparents being Scorpina and Goldarr. As such he had certain advantages over his younger cousin, such as enhanced senses, the ability to shape-shift, and the spidey-senses.

Zero wasn't without his own strengths. He was almost as strong and fast as his Goldsmith cousin, he was fast and agile. He had the ability to astral project autonomous copies of himself over long distance, and his magic ability was nothing to sneeze at, even at his age. "So, what made you decide to come to Angel Grove? I thought it was the forbidden city in your eyes," he said.

Van put his hands back in his pockets. "I'm looking for the Power Rangers," he said.

Zero raised his eyebrows. "So, you're headed to the Youth Center?" he asked. Van nodded.

"Why are you looking for Power Rangers?"

"Why are you asking so many questions?"

Zero pouted. Van grinned and even though Zero was a little taller than he was now, he got the younger boy in a headlock playfully. Zero made a strangled sound and tried to extricate himself. They scuffled around and almost knocked over a redheaded guy who came around a corner. The three of them went sprawling.

Topher grunted. "I guess I deserved this," he said as he looked up at the sky. After checking in with his parents and assuring them that yes, he'd had breakfast, yes, he was alive and had all his fingers and toes, he'd taken a quick shower and changed. When he started back out, he realized he'd no idea how to contact anyone except Laiken because he'd left his Constellizer behind.

Laiken had said they'd meet at the Youth Center later. That Billie lady was still busy and Lammy had taken the others somewhere else. He was checking the time. He had a class at the Studio later that afternoon, but until then he was free. He missed the scuffling boys until they barreled over him.

Van and Zero broke apart when they toppled. "Sorry, man. You okay?" Van asked as he sprang to his feet. Zero sprang to his feet as well. He held a hand down to help Topher up.

Topher hadn't quite mastered that little bouncing up trick that everyone who practiced martial arts seemed to know how to do. He took the offered hand and was easily pulled to his feet. "I'm sturdier than I look," he assured them. He blinked when he recognized Van as the guy on the footage he'd seen earlier.

Van raised a brow at the other guy's suddenly stupefied expression. "I even died my hair to keep this from happening," he groused, rubbing his face. "No, I am not Lee Hyun Woo. I'm not even human much less Korean," he said. Zero stifled a laugh behind his hand.

Topher shook head. "Huh?"

Van took a step back. "You didn't mistake me for a Korean idol?" he asked.

Topher frowned. "Does that happen to you a lot?" he asked.

"You'd be surprised, especially this past year," he said. He cleared his throat. "Did you have this exaggerated expression of recognition for some other reason?" he asked.

Topher didn't answer. He looked past the other two when Scourge began appearing in the area. He ran past them. He didn't have any weapons or his QSO but that didn't stop him from squaring off.

Van and Zero turned. Van sighed. "Guess it's time to saddle up again," he said.

Zero didn't say anything. He just smiled.

Lammy's solution to where the extra-terrestrial Rangers would be staying was located not far from Angel Grove's center. Professor Phenomenus' School for Stellar Youths had been Lammy's pet project for the past few years. There were as many if not more aliens in and around Angel Grove as New Tech City. And Angel Grove had existed for much longer. Many of them had families but weren't human passing enough to send their kids to school. And there were orphan aliens that needed a landing place. Or those in between like the Green, Black, and Yellow trio. Humans were encouraged to attend as well.

The School was built on land once belong to a man named Professor Phenomenus. He'd left on Terra Venture in the late 90's. He'd sold the estate, but any attempts to develop it were always foiled. By the time Lammy began looking for a place to build the School, it was dirt cheap.

The School itself was state of art. It had a variety of buildings for learning and sports and housing. She was going to quit her job at the Angel Grove Municipal Library because she'd managed to move the entrance to the Library to the library here. Boarding was to be done on a house-based system. Up to ten students would share houses dotted around the grounds.

She led them to a lone house. "Houses are named by constellations. Strangely fitting, no? This is Andromeda House," she showed them around the house. There were five beds for boys and five for girls. "We don't have a resident caretaker yet, however, so I may have to sleep over until we find one," she said.

"That shouldn't be too much longer. Are we required to attend classes?" Mika asked.

"Well, it is a school. Don't worry. We'll make sure you can balance it all," Lammy said.

"Frankly, a routine would be helpful," Neri said.

Ravi agreed.

Mika didn't argue with them. She looked at Laiken. "Won't you be attending in the city?" she asked.

Laiken grinned. "I'm just looking around. My dad actually thought about enrolling me here when he heard about it, but now I can't leave Ginger on his own at AG High," he said. "Speaking of, we should meet him for lunch at the Youth Center," he said.

"You guys get settled. Billie will let you know when she's finished. I'm going to make arrangements," Lammy said. She touched her watch and teleported away.

After leaving her backpack, the foursome headed away from the School and back toward the Youth Center to meet Topher. They found the School was located in a really empty part of the city, where old projects seemed to have been abandoned at some point due to monster attacks.

Laiken rubbed the back of neck as they passed through a particularly quiet and empty area. He felt himself tensing. Mika wasn't unaffected either. Ravi fisted his hands. Neri moved closer to Mika and took her hand nervously.

Energy blasts came out of nowhere. They managed to dodge but within moments they surrounded by Scourge. They put their backs together. "What now?" Laiken asked. He was pretty skillful, but he wasn't sure he could take on this many Scourge without a power suit.

"This is usually when a miracle happens," Mika said.

Devices appeared on their wrists. Silver and circular, they could easily be mistaken as smart watches. They even told time. "Miracle delivered. Glad I haven't lost my touch," the voice of Dr. Billie told them.

Mika smile she pulled out her QSO, it glowed. "Constellizers!" The Constellizers appeared on their arms. "Let's make them see stars," she said. "Chameleon to the power of Q!" She plugged her QSO into the Constellizer and pressed it backwards. It glowed and a ghost image of the orb surrounded her body, forming a green, skirted bodysuit with a chest piece and various silver details as it shrank around her head to finally form a helmet with a definite chameleon visor-ed helmet that seemed to glitter with stars. "Q Ranger Green!"

"Taurus to the power of Q!" A ghost image of the orb with a bull's head on it appeared. A black bodysuit formed around Ravi. His helmet was a large, horned bull's head. "Q Ranger Black!"

"Dorado to the power of Q!" A yellow orb emblazoned with a swordfish surrounded Neri forming a yellow power suit and a helmet that resembled a sword fish as seen head on, including a protruding visor. "Q Ranger Yellow!"

"Lupus to the power of Q!" A ghost image of his orb him with a wolf's head appeared. A blue body suit formed around Laiken. A blue helmet formed with a howling-wolf-like visor that seemed to be filled with stars. "Q Ranger Blue!"

The Scourge tried to fire on them before they morphed but the ghost images of the orbs protected them and made the blasts ricochet. Blue leapt forward, he crashed into the helmet of a Scourge and bounced off of him to jump onto a catwalk above them, also filled with Scourge. He kicked and leapt around. They came at him again. I know I'm pretty, but you guys really aren't my type."

Green disappeared and attacked unseen, only reappearing briefly. She whirled into sight "Now you see me," and kicked a Scourge into others, knocking them down, "Now you don't!" She disappeared again and swept the feet out from under another couple more.

Yellow used the tip of her visor to jab a Scourge dead center it's helmet. She grabbed another and threw him into another one. She kicked back as one came up behind her. "Don't underestimate me," she warned.

Black lashed out with a hard punch and knocked a scourge back into others. "Forgive my use of violence," he said. More came at him. He picked up a barrel and bashed a few of them as he twirled in a circle. "But you leave me no choice!" He threw the barrel. A scourge caught it in surprised. He landed a heavy kick and sent it flying.

Topher was treated to the most bizarre thing he'd seen yet. It was really taking him awhile to get jaded. Materializing out of nowhere, copies of the kid in the faded gray jeans appeared to surround the Scourge. They seemed to lock arms and explode in an electric blast. Zero stumbled a bit.

"You got better," Van said and steadied him. "My turn," he said. He rushed forward, seeming to disappear and reappear in different places. When he appeared powerful blows from his fists and feet. Zero didn't want to fall behind and joined the fray. They had completely different fighting styles. Zero was trained in Kovarian martial arts by his dad while Van was trained by first his father, then a ninja master.

Topher felt somewhat inadequate, but he was determined, especially when saw a Harvester being lowered from the sky. "Oh, no, you don't," he said and finally jumped into it. Sensei Saeko's training kicked in once more and he kicked a Scourge then rolled over the back of another one, dropping to the ground and kicking the feet out from beneath another one.

When he came up, a device appeared on his wrist. He looked at it. "Hey, Idol-guy," he called and held up his QSO. "You got a couple of these, right?" he asked and ducked under the fist of a Scourge.

Van grunted. He pulled off his backpack, which he seemed to have a steady hold on despite all his popping around. He pulled the goldish orb and silver-ish orb from inside. "Zero!" he shouted and without thinking much tossed one to his cousin.

Zero took the orb as the trio came together to face the Scourge.

"Constellizers!" Topher called out. His Constellizer appeared. Constellizers also appeared on the arms of the cousins. He plugged the orb in. "Leo to the Power of Q!" A ghost image of the lion faced orb appeared around him. It formed a red power suit. A red helmet formed with a lion-like visor that seemed to be filled with stars. "Q Ranger Red!"

"Aries to the Power of Q!" A ghost image of ram-headed orb appeared around Van. It formed a gold power suit with slightly striped panels down the sides. A golden helmet formed with a ram-headed visor that seemed to be filled with stars. "Q Ranger Gold!"

"Ophiuchus to the Power of Q!" A ghost image of a hooded snaked orb appeared around Zero. It formed a silver power suit with scale-patterned panels down the sides. A silver helmet formed with a coiled hood-flared snake visor that seemed to be filled with stars. "Q Ranger Silver!"

They held out their arms and fired powerful blasts from their Constellizers. "Hey, I think I need some back-up," Red said, using the communication ability of the Constellizer. The trio continued to trade laser fire with the Scourge.

"Be there soon. We're almost done here," Green answered.

"When you get a chance," Red said and back flipped out of reach as the Scourge attacked him again. "Q Sword!" he summoned and put his weapons together to form the Sword. He slashed.

"Oh, how does that work?" Gold wondered. He summoned his base weapon, the Q Blaster. He the double blades to it. "Q Crossbow!" he began shooting at the Scourge. He could also use the sides as a weapon if the Scourge came too close. "I can work this. It's different," he said.

"That looks like fun," Silver commented. He also decided to eschew his traditional weapon in favor of something else. "Q Scythe!" he twirled the weapon in his hand. He swept it around. He hooked a Scourge with it. "Get over here!" he jerked it toward him. He headbutted it and slashed another Scourge.

The cousins slashed and blasted until an explosion finished many of the Scourge. They bumped forearms in solidarity.

"It's too early to celebrate!" A creature that Red hadn't seen before but looked more important than the Scourge or even the flowery Scourgeweeds. It was opulently dressed and had a purple face and blue and gold tail. "I am Greedora and from now I'll be in charge of this planet!" He whipped around and the tail elongated crash into the ground.

The Rangers dodged and darted. Silver rushed forward to try and slash him with the Scythe. Greedora hopped back. Silver tried again. Greedora ducked. "Stay still!"

Gold took the chance while he was parrying around with Silver and ran forward. He then slid on his knees with his weapon at the ready. He slid right up to the creature and fired continuously silver times.

Silver slashed him finally and he fell down. Silver helped Gold to his feet. Red rushed forward. "Shall we?" he said and held out his Constellizer. He plugged his QSO in.

Gold and Silver plugged their QSOs in and aimed. They double shifted the orbs and flipped a switch. Energy began to gather in the Constellizer.

"Eh?" Greedora had only just made his appearance. There was no way for three kids in shiny suits could do anything to him. "All Star Blast!" They fired as one, three massive blasts of energy exploded into him.

"Let's go see what's keeping the others," Red said.

"Right," the other two agreed.

Green really thought that once they cleared out the Scourge, they'd be able to go to Red. They cleared them out. "We should see how Topher's doing," she said.

A smarmy laugh echoed around them. "You aren't going anywhere," a voice said from above them. The Rangers looked up. Green sucked in a breath and took a steadying step back. This wasn't just a lacky, or even an Administer. He stood on a railing high above them. He held a staff-like weapon with golden strings and four prongs. "That’s right be afraid Rangers. I'm Director Eriodore. It's time to find out just what you're made of," he declared with a toothy grin.

"You're welcome to find out!" Blue loped forward and leapt up and landed near the alien. He lashed out but Eriodore blocked and kicked him over the railing. Blue landed with a grunt, but the lien big shot jumped gracefully to the ground. His weapon glowed with energy and he crashed it into Black, sending him stumbling back. Green and Yellow tried to attack, but he knocked them back as well.

He jumped again and landed above them. "I thought I was dealing with and actual threat," he scoffed. He aimed his weapon and pulled back energy arrows and shot them at the Rangers below. They ran to avoid the attacks. He laughed as they scattered.

The crosswalk he stood one suddenly exploded around him by multicolored energy fire. Red, Silver, and Gold had arrived. He jumped and scoffed. Energy shimmered around him and he disappeared.

"Thanks for assist," Green said.

Eriodore appeared where Greedora had fallen. He found a badge and kicked it. "Wake up!" he commanded. The badge glowed and pulsed. It exploded and giant version of Greedora grew from it. "Ahaha! Didn't you think it was easy?" he laughed.

Eriodore scoffed and disappeared again.

"I was wondering about that," Gold said mostly to himself.

"Let's take care of that," Green said and plugged her QSO into her Constellizer.

"Right!" the other agreed and pulled out their QSO's.

Gold leaned on Silver's shoulder. "This is the best part," he told his younger cousin.

"Leo Voyager Zord!"

"Chameleon Voyager Zord!"

"Taurus Voyager Zord!"

"Dorado Voyager Zord!"

"Lupus Voyager Zord!"

The orbal cockpits formed around the Rangers and they shot off to connect with the appearing Zords. They came together with the Lion Zord forming the head and upper torso, Chameleon and Swordfish plugging in as arms, and Wolf and Bull plugging in as legs. "Voyager Megazord!"

As the Megazord headed toward the giant alien. Greedora laughed. "Bring it on, Rangers!" He whipped his tail around and knocked the Megazord down with it.

"Shouldn't we be helping?" Silver asked.

"Good point," Gold said. "Let's join in," He plugged in his QSO. "Aries Voyager Zord!" he summoned. His orbal cockpit formed around and connected to a ram-like Zord with coiled horns that shifted into a satyr-like robot.

"Ophiuchus Voyager Zord!" Silver summoned. His cockpit formed around him and connected to a snake-like Zord that shifted into a robot as well.

The Zords flipped and flying kicked the Administrator knocking him back. They flipped back and landed. The alien tried to strike them with his tail, but the Zords shifted back into voyagers and dodged.

"All right," Gold said.

"Oh, man!" Silver exclaimed.

The Megazord was back on its feet by now, so the alien pulled out a gun and began firing at them.

"Topher! Let's have Ravi and Laiken switch out," Green said. "Van, you and your friend are tagged in," she said.

"Yes, ma'am," Gold said, seemingly unphased by being called out by name. Chameleon and Dorado disengaged from the body of the Megazord. Aries and Ophiuchus shifted and docked into the ports.

"Don't think that'll help you!" Greedora fired again. The gold arm whipped up and blocked it with its horns. The silver arm whipped out and bit the alien's arm, sparks flying. "Auugh!"

"Aha! Nice," Red commented. "Ack!"

Greedora fired his weapon again, knocking them back. "Let's try that again," Silver declared and gripped his control sticks. The snake head sprang forward as if uncoiling. It gripped the alien about the middle and tossed him through the sky toward the harvester had had steadily, automatically began lowering a drill.

"Now, let's finish this!" Red declared. "Voyager Stellar Bash!" Each of their orbs glowed and energy coalesced in the coiled horns of the ram. The coils shot out like a giant explosive yo-yo and released the energy, exploding both the alien and his ship.

Eriodore returned to his Command Harvester in disgust. "This isn't over, Rangers. Not by a long shot," he vowed.

On the ground, the Rangers gathered. Laiken raised his eyebrow when he saw Mika, who so far had been a stoic, unshakeable figure, smooth her hair and clothes. Then they introduced themselves to each other. "You two...know each other?" he asked, looking between Van and Mika.

Van nodded. "We do," he said.

"It's a long story," Mika interrupted. "Weren't we going to get lunch? Goldsmith is probably starving," she declared and started walking toward the Youth Center.

"As it just so happens, I am," Van said and feel into step a few paces behind her.

Laiken snickered. "We're not going to let that just drop, are we mate?" he asked Zero.

Zero shook his head. "We definitely, definitely are not," he agreed. "Hey, wait for us!" he said as he and Laiken hurried to catch up with Van.

Neri rushed to catch up with Mika and linked arms with her.

Topher and Ravi shared a look. Ravi just shook his head. Topher chuckled. "We should catch up," Ravi said. Topher nodded and they trailed after their teammates.
